My promise as the next Mayor of the City of Ottawa is to always focus on building for the future of our great community, while communicating openly and transparently while embracing the heritage that makes Ottawa a unique and vital Midwestern City.
Meet Robb
Robb grew up in Ottawa and met his wife Amy here. He has built a successful small business into one of the leading agencies with Farmers Insurance Group. He is an active participant in our city’s events and community and a vocal advocate of local businesses.
In 2022 he was awarded the Ethyl M. Strong Ambassador of the Year award for dedication and tireless efforts of service as an Ambassador of Ottawa. He is passionate about Ottawa and looks for creative ways to manage and create opportunities for our community.
As a business owner Robert knows the importance of developing relationships and giving back to the community. He has served on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Ottawa Noon Rotary President, the City of Ottawa’s Flood Mitigation committee, current President of Run Starved Rock Country NFP, Starved Rock Country Community Foundation Board, and Ottawa Township High School Foundation Board. His household motto is “Do Good, Be Good” and is raising his young daughters in this tradition.

Robert is no stranger to leadership and hard work. He started as a District Manager-Training assistant with Farmers Insurance Group and in 2006 opened his own agency with one single policy. Since then he has grown the agency to an award-winning leading agency protecting thousands of families and businesses across Illinois. During that time he was also selected by the company for numerous Agency Pilot programs for his reputation for providing honest, constructive criticism.
He has 16 years of experience serving many leadership roles in the community. He has been a board member of the Ottawa Network of Young Execs, Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, Ottawa Noon Rotary, and has chaired many committees for these organizations.
He has an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to look for creative solutions to issues in our community. He is a good communicator and has a reputation for being fair-minded and getting things done.
